Customs Control

Customs control means compliance monitoring of obligations of industry from the management system for industrial chemicals by customs officials. This activity is part of the customs control of imported goods.

With limited resources the steps proposed for implementation of this sub-element are as follows:

  1. Customs control of customs documents using the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, the Harmonized System (HS)1, to identify priority chemicals in customs papers.
  2. Ad hoc control of the identity of the chemical through inspecting the label is done by customs (administrative personnel).
