Local control means compliance monitoring of obligations of industry from the management system for industrial chemicals by local or national inspectorates.
With limited resources the steps proposed for implementation of this sub-element are as follows:
- Local inspectorate checks whether companies have an internal information system requested by legislation to ensure compliance with their obligations. The information system contains information on which chemicals are produced/used in the company and where; how they are labelled and how man and environment are protected during production/use.
- Ad hoc control of the identity of chemicals is done by inspecting the label of chemicals.
