Licensing of suppliers

Licences to suppliers of chemicals – importers, producers, distributors - can be granted by the relevant government authority upon request. Granting the request could require that the applicant demonstrate an adequate level of capacity to safely use the chemicals (and mixtures containing those chemicals) selected for licensing, is able to advise the customer on this and agrees to supply only to selected customers (for example, only professional users) or under special conditions (for example, small quantities).

The compliance of suppliers with their obligations could be monitored and enforced.
