DDT is listed in Annex B to the Stockholm Convention with its production and/or use restricted for disease vector control purposes in accordance with related World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations and guidelines. This document discusses the health and economic cost of the use of DDT and includes information on (i) health effects and risks posed by DDT; (ii) estimates of population exposed to DDT; (iii) the direct and indirect economic losses arising from the increased risk of unintended diseases from the exposure to DDT; and (iv) direct and indirect costs of Malaria.
