WHO - Training for health care providers, Mercury [2019]

A WHO training package for use by the health sector. The presentation summarises (i) background information on mercury; (ii) sources of exposure; (iii) health effects, with examples of case studies in selected regions; (iv) diagnosis and management of poisoning due to mercury exposure in children, with examples of individual case studies; and (v) measures to reduce exposure by health workers at a local level.

Why this Tool/Guidance?

This presentation is primarily for human resource development in the area of exposure to mercury. Information provided is useful to assist teachers in developing an interactive problem solving curriculum on environmental health in a variety of teaching situations and educational settings.
