WHO - Public Health impact of chemicals: knowns and unknowns [2016/2021]

Description:

The report provides information on the health impact of chemicals hazardous to human health including pesticides, asbestos, various other household and occupational chemicals, ambient and household air pollution, second-hand tobacco smoke, lead and arsenic. Estimates of health impacts are presented for a selection of chemicals with sufficient evidence for global quantification. The report also provides examples of effective interventions to prevent death and disease caused by chemicals, and the economic benefits to be gained.

Information provided is useful to support authorities in making risk assessment and management decisions with regard to chemicals and public health.
