WHO - Personal interventions and risk communication on Air Pollution [2020]

Description:

The report presents the results of an expert consultation on questions related to protection measures that individuals can take to reduce their exposure to air pollution. It was agreed, however, that these measures are the least desirable choice in the hierarchy of interventions and that public policies aiming at reducing emissions is preferred. The report also discusses the communication challenges associated with information related to air pollution and health impacts, such as air pollution sources, Air Quality Index (AQI), and the role of medical societies.
