Description:

The document provides a summary of quantitative assessment of health risks associated with lead exposure using data from more than 700 studies. The global burden of disease due to lead exposure was assessed in terms of cardiovascular disease, anaemia, gastro-intestinal effects and mild mental retardation. Projections of lead exposure by regions until 2030 are given along with projected incidence of mild mental retardation in children.
