UNIDO - The POP Priority: UNIDO and the Stockholm Convention [2017]

The document provides a summary on the role of UNIDO in supporting developing countries and economies in transition to implement the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants. Case studies are provided on (i) implementation of a national plan; (ii) safe management and disposal of PCPs; (iii) safe alternatives to POPs; (iv) unintentional POP production and (v) recycling strategies.

Information provided is useful to support environmental health decision making regarding exposure to dioxins or dioxin-like substances under the terms of the Stockholm Convention. It provides policy-makers support and advice on the role of UNIDO when implementing the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.
