The toolkit is designed to assist countries to develop a national mercury releases inventory and provides a standardized methodology and accompanying database to enable the development of consistent national and regional mercury inventories. Guidance is provided on identifying sources and quantifying the consumption and releases of mercury from these sources. Examples and extensive information on mercury release sources are provided.
