Import permits for health/environmental reasons

The importer needs to apply for an import permit to the relevant authority for all imported chemicals, or for selected chemicals and mixtures containing these chemicals (such as high priority chemicals or high priority and priority chemicals). The authority will check the application for completeness and whether the obligations from the management system for industrial chemicals are respected by the importer. One could consider requesting fees for treating the import permit requests.

The compliance of importers with their obligations could be monitored and enforced.
