Description:

The document published by a WHO task group on Environmental Health Criteria provides detailed information on benzene including (i) sources of exposure; (ii) environmental transport, distribution and transformation; (iii) environmental levels and human exposure; (iv) kinetics and metabolism; (v) effects on laboratory mammals, in vitro systems and humans; and (vi) evaluation of human health risk. Recommendations for protection of human health are also stated.
