IARC - Asbestos: Monograph [2012]

Description:

IARC monographs identify and evaluate environmental factors that can increase the risk of human cancer. The monograph provides background information on asbestos (chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, tremolite, actinolite anthophyllite) including (i) environmental occurrence; (ii) uses; (iii) occupational and non-occupational human exposure data and (iv) toxicokinetics. A summary of the evidence for the evaluation of the carcinogenicity of asbestos using human and experimental animal data is also given.
