Exposure

Workers must follow workplace rules and regulations in order to protect themselves from hazardous chemical exposures. Employers should ensure workers are not exposed to chemicals to an extent which exceeds exposure limits or other exposure criteria for the evaluation and control of the working environment.

It is essential that workers:

  • Understand requirements for occupational exposure limits (OELs)
  • Understand requirements for monitoring substances
  • Understand responsibilities for using personal protective equipment (PPE)
