The following options are suggested for limited, medium and high resource levels.
Limited resources
Use other countries’ risk assessments, risk assessments from international organisations or other relevant assessments - risk evaluations/decision guidance documents, risk profiles from Chemical Conventions - if the uses in your country are comparable with the uses assessed in these existing risk assessments. For chemicals identified as national priorities, if no external risk assessment is available, consider asking for financial donor support to perform a risk assessment with external expertise.
Medium resources
As described above, but make efforts to adapt the existing risk assessment to the country’s situation through bridging the exposure information.
High resources
Carry out your own full risk assessment. Use hazard or risk assessments from other countries or international organisations as a starting point.
