A comprehensive global assessment which provides insights on the health impacts that could be avoided through healthier and safer workplaces. The document provides information on (i) the key evidence linking diseases and injuries to occupational risks; (ii) a quantitative assessment of the disease burden attributable to selected occupational risks; and (iii) summary of general interventions and selected examples of occupational and environmental interventions that successfully improve health and disease burden. The occupational risks, in this study, include physical, chemical, biological and psychosocial risks, working conditions and the built environments of workplaces.
