FAO / WHO : Guidelines on Highly Hazardous Pesticides [2016]

Description:

The guidelines, for use by national or regional pesticide regulators with limited resources, expand on the Articles which address highly hazardous pesticides in the International Code of Conduct on Pesticide Management. They provide detailed guidance on the implementation of specific aspects of the Code of Conduct with regard to highly hazardous pesticides including (i) what constitutes a highly hazardous pesticide; (ii) risk assessment; (iii) needs assessment; (iv) risk mitigation measures; (v) action planning; and (vi) prevention. Links to further tools and relevant references are also given.

Why this Tool/Guidance?

Information provided is useful to support environmental health decision making and the setting up of a pesticide management system within the framework of the International Code of Conduct on Pesticide management.
