The monograph provides decision makers detailed information on fluorides including (i) properties and analytical procedures for the determination of fluorides; (ii) sources; (iii) environmental transport and distribution; (iv) environmental levels and human exposure; (v) kinetics and metabolism (vi) effects on laboratory animals, in vitro systems and humans; and (vii) evaluation of human health risks and environmental effects. Recommendations for further research are also stated.
