The document provides recommendations on essential measures to protect the health and safety of operators and other persons involved in emergency vector control of Aedes mosquitoes, including space spraying of insecticides, larvicide application and indoor residual spraying. Information is provided on occupational health and safety measures including (i) planning; (ii) operator protection; (iii) safety rules and training; (iv) storage and disposal of insecticides; and (v) medical supervision. Management of acute insecticide poisoning is also discussed.
