Norms and guidance

WHO produces international norms on drinking-water quality and human health in the form of guidelines that are used as the basis for regulation and setting standards. Air quality guidelines provide background information and guidance to governments in making risk management decisions, particularly in setting air quality standards including for benzene.

WHO guideline values are listed for the intake of benzene through drinking-water and air.
