Evaluation of the effectiveness of the system

Evaluation of the effectiveness of the system and of the positive impact of the management system contains two sub elements:

  1. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the system (human) health
  2. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the system (for protecting the) environment

These sub-elements can be implemented through:

  • Health monitoring, for example reporting poisonings of the consumer or worker; and
  • Environment monitoring, for example through monitoring programmes or by using environmental indicators.

An initial evaluation of the number of poisonings from chemicals can be compared with the number of poisonings after introduction of the new industrial chemicals management system, for example, after 5 years. The same can be done by comparison of the initial environmental monitoring data of the selected chemicals with data measured at a later date.

For this element, health and environmental implementations are described separately.
